Celebrating Family

Watch this editorial in streaming video!Welcome! This month at WTOnline we are celebrating family!

Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family states that he believes “Raising healthy, well-educated, self-disciplined children who love God and others is the most challenging responsibility any parent can have.  Not even rocket science can approach it for unpredictability.”

Of course, the job is even more difficult today, as the culture undermines and contradicts everything Christian parents try to accomplish at home.

Fortunately, we are not asked to do everything perfectly as moms and dads. Our kids usually manage to survive our mistakes and failures and turn out better than we have any right to boast about.

Yes, it has never been easy to raise healthy and productive children. After all, babies come into the world with no instructions, and parents must “assemble” them on their own. No guaranteed formulas exist that work in every instance. And the techniques that succeed with that first child can fail completely with the next.

Let me leave you with this thought. When you and I have reached the end of our brief journey on this earth, nothing will matter more to us than the quality of our family life and the depth of our relationship with God.
