Spirit-Filled Living

Do you remember the first molded chocolate bunny you received?  Do you remember the first bite into one of the long ears and your disappointment in finding it hollow? Empty, hollow, nothing… the words ring of disillusionment. Yet this is the life experience of many.

What would happen if you invited the Holy Spirit to empower and transform you from the inside out? That question reminds me of the great evangelist, D.L. Moody. When asked why he needed to be filled continually with the Holy Spirit, he replied, “Because I leak!”

To daily live the Spirit-filled life, we must be filled daily with the Holy Spirit. Like Moody, we all run out of gas and need the power of the Holy Spirit to recharge our lives. Even in the book of Acts, those who experienced the Pentecostal outpouring with tongues of fire in chapter 2 still needed a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit in chapter 4.

I have been married to my husband, Gary, for nearly 43 years. I thought I knew him when we married, but I now realize that I hardly knew him at all. It has taken many years to uncover who Gary really is and how I can best relate to him.

Growing in our walk and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is what the Christian life is all about. Walking with the Person of the Holy Spirit is an exciting adventure, but it also takes time to learn who He is, what He likes, and how to please Him.

Many people are grasping for the sweet things of life like possessions, money, power, and pleasure. All of these things leave us empty and hollow inside. However, when we know God and follow His guidance, we begin to find purpose for our life.

My prayer as you read the articles this month at WTOnline is that you begin to understand what it truly means to live a Spirit-filled life!
