Miracles

This month at WTOnline we will be focusing on miracles. Miracles inspire us to “believe.” They create hope in us that maybe, just maybe, we might experience a genuine life-altering miracle for ourselves.

The greatest miracle in the world is that God loves us and His Son died for us. His love for us is, and forever will remain, a deep mystery. The power of Christ’s death and resurrection is so great that no Christian has to live under any human bondage. No Christian has to be at the mercy of lust, anger, sin, fear, death, or Satan. Surely this good news is the greatest news that has ever been given—the greatest of all miracles!

I have personally experienced many miracles in my life. Today I would be in a wheelchair if God had not healed me of rheumatoid arthritis. I would be dead if God had not touched me at the birth of my firstborn when I was hemorrhaging and life was fast leaving my body. Those and other miracles have been part of my life. However, there have also been times when I have prayed for a miracle and the miracle never came. At least, it didn’t come in the way that I was praying.

Why did God heal me one time, but not another? Why did He not spare me from having several major surgeries? Did He love me more at one time than at another? Did I have more faith for one healing, but not enough for the next?  These questions will always be part of the unanswered mysteries that we will only understand when we reach heaven.

This one thing I have learned: my God knows exactly what is best for me. As Christians we are simply told to ask, believing that He is able to perform the miracle!

May the articles this month become “food for your faith” so that you might begin with new zeal to expect miracles in your own life!
